Today’s business presentation moved at such a dizzying speed that there was hardly enough time to comprehend the upgrades being shown.
Although watching things move more quickly was fantastic, it was only somewhat limited to a series of programmed demonstrations.

Bing Enhancements:
Bing’s four primary areas of change are Search, Answers, Chat, and Create (we’ll talk about Edge later). The new search box is the first upgrade.
Now, a box encourages you to ask Bing anything more akin to those on Twitter or Facebook rather than the customary lengthy, one-line bar.
One thousand characters are now allowed. Making seeking answers more conversational is the concept which has been Google’s strategy for many years.
- Results are now shown when you submit your query in a slightly different way.
- A column containing conventional “answers,” similar to what you see on Bing right now, appears on the left.
- On the right, though, a window launches a conversation while outlining how the system discovered those solutions.
- You were mistaken when you first assumed this was comparable to what Google does in its “About this search” panels.

To use the new Bing chat feature in your browser, click the button in the upper right corner of the new Edge.
But it does more than merely respond to your inquiries without requiring you to leave the sites you’re viewing. Edge simplifies research or multitasking by helping you make sense of the websites you visit.
Microsoft demonstrated how it used Bing to summarize Gap Inc.’s quarterly report and extract important takeaways and financial highlights during its speech today.
Bing (in Edge) to tell me the main takeaways after opening the PDF from Gap’s investor relations website. It gave me information about the company’s performance in easily readable chunks.
The system then responded with six bullet points, giving the net sales, gross margin, operational loss, cash and cash equivalents, and free cash flow after “financial highlights”.
Each item included the monetary amount and a comparison to the previous year’s performance.
The fact that Edge can access another company’s earnings report from this chat window without opening a new tab is astounding.
The browser may then be instructed to build a table that compares and contrasts the two businesses.
