They both are extremely different as for outdoor ceilings fan you require a wet-rated or damp-rated fan, whereas indoor ceiling requires a dry-rated fan. A lot of factors have to be taken into consideration before a fan is chosen e.g. the environment, the location etc. most of these fans are high quality and affordable, which makes the whole shopping experience more interesting.

What to consider while buying ceiling fans?

A number of aspects have to be observed before buying the best suited ceiling fan e.g. the blade pitch. This is the angle at which the blade moves while rotating. A greater pitch gives a better angle, however it might require a hard motor. Longer blades require more effort in turning, and hence a heavier motor is required. They are effective and keep the place cooled down. Moreover, the height from the ceiling matters a lot as well. It is preferred to give at least a 12 inch gap between them, as ceiling hugging fans are no suitable. The best ceiling fan should be able to give you the best performance. It should keep your house cooler at a cheaper rate than air conditioners.

Indoor ceiling fans:

Dry rated fans are perfect for indoor uses. They can be placed in areas like bedrooms, kitchen, foyers, dining rooms, lounges or basements. However they should not be placed in a shower room as it accumulated moisture, which will harm the fan. It does not have a lot of restriction in terms of material, as no waterproof material is needed. This way more focus could be made on the airflow, lighting and design. It should be placed at least 15 inches from the ceiling and 9 feet above the ground. In case if extra high ceilings, you have to buy a low hanging fan as the normal fan might nit prove to be efficient enough. They are kept away from water, and due to that dust particles will settle on the blades. They require regular maintenance so that no allergies are caused.

It has a specifically designed motor that prevents the wires from getting in contact with water, as it may lead to hazards e.g. fire or circuit shocks. They should not receive direct rain or snowfall. However, most people prefer them as they are available in better material and designs. Moreover they do not sag over time.

Wet rated fans:

These fans are capable of handling everything, be it rain, hailstorms, or snowfall. They are highly durable and are usually placed in exposed porches, swimming pool areas, gazebos or cabanas. They have easy maintenance s you can spray them with a garden hose to clean off the dust. All of the electrical wiring and motors are placed securely in a waterproof encasing, along with a light weighted material that can withstand extreme weathers.
