The naturally inspired avatars serve as a means for collectors to reduce their carbon footprint.

In order to evolve their NFT and acquire rare traits, each Ecosapien owner can also buy more carbon credits.

Nihar Neelakanti, an Ecosapiens co-founder, told CoinDesk that he was motivated by a desire to protect the environment.

The most effective approach to participate in “impact-to-earn,” which enables consumers to take climate action and earn rewards through activism,

According to him, is to use NFTs as a channel for selling carbon credits.

Neelakanti posed the question,

“What if we could take carbon credits that truly had a significant global impact, bring them on-chain to make it one-click accessible,

But just disguise these credits as the ideal signaling art piece?”

“In that sense, making a difference is simple, affordable, and fun.”

According to Neelakanti, who spoke with CoinDesk, the money will be used to develop the Ecopsapiens marketplace and test out minting techniques like open editions.

Establish brand alliances to increase the platform’s exposure on Web 3.

The Alpha Collection from Ecosapiens, which debuted in February, has a floor price of 0.055 ETH,

or around $100, according to data from OpenSea.

The average trade volume for the collection is 18 ETH, or roughly $32,300.

The collection claims that so far, it has prevented the emission of nearly 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide, which is the same as planting 40,000 trees.
