DoodDash Partners with Golden State Warriors – Eat at your Seat in Chase Center

The Golden State Warriors, the defending NBA champions, have signed a new multiyear sponsorship Deal with food delivery service company DoorDash.

The agreement would allow fans attending Warriors games at the San Francisco Chase Center to order in-arena food and drinks using the DoorDash mobile app, making the Warriors the first NBA team to do so.

Throughout the 2022/23 season, the NBA team and delivery service will launch a variety of new activations, including prizes and discounts on orders.

In terms of branding inventory

DoorDash will be visible throughout the Chase Center through LED signage and onsite activations, as well as through the Warriors’ digital channels.

“We are honoured to collaborate with DoorDash to elevate the food and beverage experience for fans at Chase Center and throughout the Bay Area,” stated Warriors Executive Vice President, Mike Kitts. Chase Center will be one of the first NBA venues to allow spectators to order food and beverages via DoorDash.

This is the start of a multifaceted partnership that will change the food and beverage experience both inside the arena and for Dub Nation around the Bay Area.”

Enjoying – Sports and Food

Given the extent to which consumers have gotten accustomed to own-device self-service for food and beverage transactions, the move to introduce digital ordering into stadiums makes sense.

For example, according to the July edition of PYMNTS’ ConnectedEconomyTM study, “The ConnectedEconomyTM Monthly Report: The Rise of the Smart Home,” which drew on a May poll of about 2,700 U.S. adults, 43% reported ordering from an aggregator that month. Furthermore, more than half of those consumers did so at least once a week.

Subscribers to DoorDash’s

DashPass membership programme that live in the California Bay Area will be eligible for “Golden Gamedays,” where they can compete for a “Warrior for a Day” experience.

These enthusiasts can increase their chances of winning by using the code “GOLDEN” on eligible DoorDash purchases. The experience includes customised jerseys, an on-court skills health centre, and other amenities.

Furthermore, DoorDash is giving away tickets to certain Warriors home games to DashPass subscribers. This will begin on October 18 with the team’s first home game. In this collaboration, the DoorDash logo will be displayed around Chase Center, as well as LED signs and on-site signals.

Good for Business

Sporting events, without a doubt, present a tremendous chance for aggregators to not only touch more transactions each year but also to reach new consumers.

For the Warriors, for example, ESPN reported that total attendance was approximately 741,000 in the 2021-22 season, with an average attendance of approximately 18,000 per game. According to ESPN, the Boston Red Sox drew 2.6 million fans this season, with an average attendance of 32,000 per game.

Similarly, Uber launched Uber Eats at Stadiums in May, enabling digital ordering from concessions sellers at live event venues. The product was live in numerous MLB stadiums at the time of the announcement, including Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Yankee Stadium in New York, and the Astros’ Minute Made Park in Houston.
