The Rapoo V300 is one of the best silent gaming mice you can find at very affordable pricing. But the shape of it is a little off it is only my opinion. However, for people who prefer a shape like this will surely love it. The mice offer a great rubberized grip on the side which is great for longer periods of gaming sessions and it won’t make any difference. The mouse features a four-mode adjustable DPI switch that offers 800/1600/3200/4000 options.

The mouse has two buttons on the side and two main clicking buttons. Not to mention, the scroll wheel on the mice feels awesome. The scrolling and rubberized wheel feel amazing to use. There is only one flaw with this mouse. The USB cable is very hard which makes the gliding slightly tough.

The Logitech G602 is a wireless gaming mouse. Yes, you heard it right a wireless gaming mouse. Most of the pro gamers stay away from wireless gaming mice because of the fact that they have movement lags due to them being wireless and some cheaper mice also get to face delay issues. Talking about the Logitech G602, the mouse has been referred to as lag-free gaming mouse by Logitech and it is quite promising.

The mouse has great built quality and features therefore, we’ll talk about the only negative side of this mouse. Due to the mouse being wireless, The mouse is quite heavy and bulky and that is something most gamers stay away from but the features and the precision it offers is greatly complimented by many gamers. In my opinion, this mouse is for people who like playing MMO games.

The mouse runs on two AA batteries. It works with a receiver and doesn’t support Bluetooth devices. If by any chance you forget the receiver you won’t be able to use the mouse without the receiver. The body has a small compartment to store the receiver inside the mouse body so that you don’t forget it when carrying it around.

Overall, talking about physical appearance and built quality. It is absolutely on the point keeping in view its price. The mouse is a right-handed mouse and people who are left-handed won’t be able to use it.

Razer is a pioneer in producing high-end gaming equipment. Razer is the choice of many pro players. Talking about silent gaming mice by Razer. There are no silent gaming mice launched officially by Razer however, The Razer Lancehead is the only gaming mouse by Razer that has silent buttons and is great for its price. The Razer Lancehead comes with a laser sensor that is pretty price and accurate.

To be very honest I personally love the Razer Lancehead from the design, its shape, and the grip it has to offer; all is amazing for me and I love it. The ergonomic design feels so comfortable in the hand. The only thing I hate about this mouse is the DPI adjustment. It is only one way and you have to go through all the settings if you accidentally change them.

The software that Razer provides is also top-notch. It is great for setting game-specific profiles and to adjust DPI settings. There are a few things that could’ve been done better and they include the rubber side grips. If they were slightly grippier it would’ve been great but speaking of best silent mouse for gaming this surely can be a right pick.

Buyer’s Guide | Best Silent Mouse For Gaming

The following are some of the specifications and factors that you should consider before buying a quiet mouse for gaming.

Sound of the Clicks

Well, there is no way of determining whether certain mouse clicks are too loud or soft, and you can only determine it by actually using the mouse.

But we here have actually used some of the mice we have reviewed here, and tried and tested them in noise-less environments to determine the loudness of their clicks.

We even went one step ahead and asked our gamer friends who happen to own some of the premium gaming mice for their review.

I am pretty sure the information we give here will surely help you to make an informed decision and help you in buying the best and quietest gaming mouse out there!

Polling Rate

The first and foremost thing to notice in a gaming mouse is the polling rate.

The polling rate simply refers to the rate at which your mouse is sending data to the PC. It is measured in Hertz (Hz). Most of the gaming mice have polling rates ranging from 500Hz to 1000Hz.

For example a mouse with a polling rate set to 1000Hz sends the data to the computer every 1ms or 1000 times every second.

Some mice software also allows you to change the value of Polling Rate but we recommend you set it to the highest.

The picture below is taken from Logitech Gaming Software which allows you to customize the polling rate as well as the DPI Level.

DPI Control

DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. It basically refers to the pixels moved by the cursor when you move your mouse by 1 inch.

Most of the gaming mouse allows you to set the DPI ranging from 240 to all the way up to 16000 DPI on some Logitech gaming mice. The higher the DPI the quicker the movements but at the cost of reduced accuracy. Well, you won’t usually see many pro gamers setting the DPI above 1600 DPI.

Most of the pros I have seen set their DPI to even 400 DPI and usually tinker with the in-game sensitivity to get the desired result. They use the concept of eDPI.

What is EDPI?

EDPI stands for effective Dots Per Inch. This value is calculated by multiplying the in-game sensitivity with the DPI of your mouse. This greatly helps in identifying the true value of sensitivity irrespective of the hardware differences.

e.g. if you have set your mouse DPI to 400 and in-game sensitivity (of let’s say CSGO) to 2.0, then your eDPI will be equal to = 400 x 2.0 = 800

Unless or until you have a large resolution screen to work with like a 4K monitor or something, you will be just fine with lower levels of DPI.

One thing you have to notice though is if the mouse’s software allows you to set change the DPI on the go. This feature is usually provided with some extra buttons on the mouse.

This takes us to our next factor…

Programmable Buttons

Another great feature to look for in a gaming mouse is if it has multiple programmable buttons. These buttons come quite handy if you are playing a MOBA or RPG game so you can set customized shortcuts for in-game movements.

Even in First-person Shooter games, you can use them for shortcuts like throwing your secondary, using the voice chat, and whatnot.

Another thing to notice if your mouse has programmable DPI buttons. Most of the gaming mouse having multiple buttons do provide this feature of changing the DPI on-the-go while in the game.

Optical or Laser Sensor – What’s the difference?

Well, all the mice these days are optical i.e. they use light for tracking the mouse movement. Both the LED and Laser mice use a CMOS sensor for this purpose.

Mice having optical sensors use one more LEDs to take pictures of the surface underneath to track the mouse movements. Laser Sensors, on the other hand, uses Laser (thanks Captain Obvious) to track the mouse movement.

In the initial times when the new Laser mice appeared, they became famous because of their increased level of DPIs going beyond 3000 DPI. The Optical mice didn’t have much DPI those days. But with the improvement in Optical Sensor technology, this difference is no more there as most of the top-notch gaming mice have their DPI way beyond 6000.

The discussion boils down to the following two things:

  1. Surface Compatibility: Optical Mouse uses LED for tracking the movement. These mice are supposed to be used on opaque surfaces so that the light emitted to track the movement doesn’t get reflected away. This restricts the Optical Mouse to be used on mouse pads or other non-reflecting opaque surfaces. On the other hand, depending upon the type of Laser used in a Laser mouse, it can be used on a much wider range of surfaces including glass.
  2. Unwanted Acceleration: Mose of the pro gamers have reported acceleration on most of the Laser mice. The acceleration happens when the mouse gets confused or distracted and overcompensates for your movement by inconsistently moving the cursor (either too fast or too slow). This can happen in Optical Mice too as it depends upon the hardware of the mouse. Click here for more info.

Most of the pros still use the LED mouse because there is little to no acceleration present in those as compared to the Laser mice.

[su_note note_color=”#eff7ff” radius=”7″]Our Recommendation: Well, if you don’t have a desk and a mouse-pad around you, you are better off with a Laser Mouse as it works on almost any surface without any hindrance. It may cost you $10-$20 extra but it’s worth it. If you do have a mouse-pad then you can surely pick a good LED gaming mouse and it will work just fine for you.[/su_note]

Wired or Wireless

The one-liner answer to this debate is: “Always buy a Wired Gaming Mouse”.

Why?

Because there are latency issues with Wireless mouse. There is a lag between the time of actual movement and the registry of that movement on the computer.

There are however remarkable improvements in Wireless technology for example Logitech G900 which offers 1ms response time just like the wired mice, but that comes at the cost of an extra $20-$30 bucks.

It depends on if you are a hardcore gamer or just a casual gamer like me who just wants to enjoy playing a game or two with his friends.

If you are serious about gaming but on a low budget you are better off with a good wired mouse as it will offer the best bang for the buck. Otherwise, you are good with a Wireless mouse too!

The Design – Things to consider

First of all you have to find out how you hold the mouse. Is it a claw grip, palm grip, or fingertip grip? The next thing is whether you like to hold the mouse with your left hand or right hand. There are many mice out there whose ergonomics are specifically designed for lefties. After that, you have to consider the dimensions of the mouse according to your grip.

Some premium gaming mice also offer interchangeable parts for the mouse which can help in making it fit for your style of grip. Some gaming mice also offer adjustable weight, so that it’s not too lighter or heavier while gaming. Moreover, they differ from the cheap gaming mouse in the sense that they have the exceptional build quality made to last several years and millions of clicks!

Conclusion | Best Silent Mouse For Gaming

Finding the best silent mouse for gaming does not solely depend on the price and the brand, but features and manufacturing. A strong and sturdy construction along with the ergonomic design is what creates the whole difference in keeping the click silent, noise-free. To make the best out of your investment and be a quiet gamer, go for the mouse that offers a noise-free yet smooth click without any hinderence – for that, you can choose a mouse from this review and guide as they are tried and tested by many enthusiast gamers.
